Libby Creek Gold Panning
The Libby Creek Recreational Gold Panning Area is a fun activity for the entire family. Gold panning along Libby Creek dates back to the early 1860s, and an estimated 10-15% of the gold originally found in the area is believed to remain, so your chances of finding actual gold are pretty good. Any gold you happen to find is yours to keep, making this a memorable experience for children if they happen to get lucky!
The parking area has men and women's toilets, but this is the extent of the developed facilities. Do some research before heading out to the area by inquiring at the Forest Service or Chamber of Commerce.
